Depending on your perspective, I am fortunate to attend many conferences across many industry verticals. I have to say that the ACG Rocky Mountain Conference I attended on March 17 and 18 was the highest quality business conference I have attended in a very long time. It deserves this recognition not only because of the quality of the speakers and the topics discussed, but perhaps more importantly the dedication of the volunteer organization and conference committee to develop a thoughtful agenda and work with the speakers, moderators, and panel members to deliver a relevant and engaging presentation.
Where2.0 attracted even more attendees than last year, with over 900. Where2.0 continued its tradition of distinguished presenters from the geospatial and web mapping community. Augmented reality and location-based social media seemed to dominate the conference. However, Andre Parris of Bloomberg revealed the most impressive business mapping application we’ve seen to date.
In my soon to be published article on “Corporate Growth and Location Intelligence” I make the connection between these two conferences, and expand on the highlights.
